I thought Dodge was trying to make sure that dealers don't do this. How the hell can you sell a car if you pull that BS.

$20,000? That's a slightly used 2014 V6 Mustang!

I like that they couldn't even be bothered to print it out, they just grabbed a Bic and scribbled it on a damn sticker. For $20,000, at least try not to act like a shady car salesman! Just for a few minutes!

this is nonsense. company makes a car affordable so people will buy them. dealers market them up and box out buyers.. company sells less cars than planed, kills car due to poor sales... fuck wads. .

And here I thought dealerships protected the consumers from price hikes that would occur with direct sales...

You don't wanna know what the market adjustment would be if it came straight from the manufacturers.

Plus, not all dealerships will do this. People will shop the prices on these, a d this one will probably sit until floorplan eats them alive and they're forced to give it away.

Every once in a while, some idiot comes along who is willing to pay, but if people are willing to wait, there's checks in place to make sure this kind of thing doesn't go on for too long.

Throw in a free Dart for a winter beater and we may have a deal ;-)

I don't think the manufacturers would mark them up like this. Where's the benefit? If they advertise the car at a certain price then marked it up no one would shop with them again.

It's not like Apple hikes the price of new iPhones by 50% when they come out because of a 'market adjustment'

Markups like this are just wrong. Any dealer that does this can go to hell in my opinion, and if I see that shit happening at a dealer I will actively seek somewhere else to do my business

If they keep these markups going, that request may not be too far out of the realm of sanity

i feel like this will sit on the lot like special edition camaros priced way too high. Thus will be on the lot for months.

http://www.costcoauto.com/default.aspx I remember reading someone bought a Nissan GT-R, when they first came out, through this program to get around mark ups because they can't charge more than MSRP.

Never buy from dealerships like this, I'm not saying to do so. But what I am saying is that this car if sold from the manufacturer could actually be done so for several thousand a less. Yet they would still be doing the same thing to you. They just wouldn't be so open about it.

Wait...I thought company execs were the smartest of the bunch? Isn't that why they get paid the big bucks?

I didn't pay it. Saw in the news there was a "stealership" in San Diego that marked one up $150k. Making the car roughly $212k.... You could buy 2 vipers and a wrangler (provided manufacturer incentives).
